Thierry Rayna

Visiting Professor

Thierry Rayna is a Professor of Economics & Innovation at Novancia Business School Paris. Beforehand he spent 10 years in the UK, where he held positions, amongst others, at Imperial College London, University College London, the LSE and University of Cambridge. Prof. Rayna holds a PhD in Economics from Aix-Marseille University and he was for three years a Doctoral Fellow at the École Polytechnique in Paris.

Thierry Rayna's research investigates the economic and managerial impact brought about by digital technologies. While his past research has revolved mainly around the industrial and corporate change caused by digitisation within the music, film and software industries, his current research focuses on the impact of 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing technologies on innovation, entrepreneurship and business models.

Thierry Rayna is an Associate Editor of the Int. J. of Manufacturing Technology and Management. He is Open Innovation Advisor at the I.N.P.I. (the French IP/Patent Office) and has also collaborated with the UK IPO, the European Patent Office and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. He also advises multinationals as well as SMEs, and mentors start-ups.
