Biography
Marion is Deputy Director of the Centre for Innovation Management Research and the Chair of Birkbeck's Ethics Committee.
Marion designed the Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship programmes for which she is programme director.
She was Subject Group Lead: Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from September 2023 to September 2025, Head of the Department of Management from September 2019 to September 2021, having previously been Deputy Department Head. Marion chaired the Admissions Team and the Academic Integrity Committee for the Department of Management.

Research overview
Marion's research projects span innovation in firms, use of generative AI in the workplace, accreditation and quality standards, and diversity and inclusion in small businesses.
With colleagues from the International University of Catalonia, Frederic Marimon and Marta Mas Macchua, and Saverio Romeo, Marion studies the use of generative AI tools in small businesses.
With Grace Peng and Odile Janne she examines the role of different types of training in the innovation performance of micro-businesses.
With Federica Rossi and Ellen Yu, Marion examines the role of diversity and inclusion in governance in small businesses.
With Grazia Ietto-Gillies she worked on an empirical framework measuring absorptive capacity.
Marion is interested in the role of accreditation and the quality infrastructure. With Ray Lambert she is working on a research project for the Irish National Accreditation Board measuring the economic impact of accreditation.
