She is Reader in the Economics and Management of Innovation in the School of Management and Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck College forming part of University of London , UK , where she is also Director of E-business programmes (http://www.bbk.ac.uk/ebusiness/). She is Visiting Professor at the British Institute of Technology and Ecommerce (BITE). She is PhD in Economics; M.A./ Candidatus Oeconomiae (Cand.Oecon.) in Technical Change and Industrial Development, M.Sc. in Economic Development and International Trade, and B.A. in Economics. Andersen's research profile is within evolutionary economics and industrial dynamics with respect to innovation and institutions, services dynamics and productivity, and the economics and management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). She has published several books and journal articles within those fields. She has directed, owned and/or worked on research programmes funded by the European Union (EU), The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) of the UK , The Economic and Social Research Council (SSF) of Denmark , The British Academy, The Danish Research Academy, and The Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) of the UK . She has advised and/or collaborated with economists and policy makers of national governments inside and outside Europe, international agencies including the EU and the United Nations (ILO and UNCTAD), as well as leading interest organizations.
