Counselling Service

We offer a free, non-judgemental and confidential counselling service with assessment and up to five further counselling sessions to support you with emotional and psychological difficulties that are affecting your experience and engagement with your studies at university.

Where we then feel there is a need for longer term therapy, we will refer you elsewhere.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer counselling sessions to students who are studying outside of the United Kingdom. However, students can access mental health self-help and peer support through Togetherall.

You can also contact the Counselling Service and a member of the team can signpost you to other relevant services and available resources.

Coronavirus update: We will be continuing to offer online video appointments.

  • Our appointment times remain the same and you can self-refer as normal.
  • We also recommend our self-help resources.
  • If you are experiencing a crisis, please speak to your GP, your local A&E, the Samaritans (116 123), or the NHS mental health services.
