The best place to store your files in most cases is the 'My Documents' folder, often referred to as the N: drive. This is a networked location that will be available to you whenever you log in to the Birkbeck network.
We do not recommend saving files onto the desktop on your computer, as this is not secure, or regularly backed up.
Some departments also have additional network storage available when it is necessary to work collaboratively.
If the data you are transporting is sensitive or needs to be secured for any reason, we recommend using encrypted USB sticks, which are available for the ITS service desk.
