About us

The Department of Management is a leading centre for interdisciplinary research that informs policy, practice and our teaching. Our students develop the knowledge and skills required to operate in complex, global organisations and to make a positive difference in society.

Based in the Clore Management Centre, a purpose-built teaching and research facility overlooking Bloomsbury’s Torrington Square, our department is the largest in Birkbeck, with a vibrant international community of around 1,650 students and over 50 staff members.

Our programmes

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in accounting, business, international business, management, marketing and other specialist areas. We are affiliated with professional accreditation bodies in management, accounting and marketing and many of our programmes lead to full or partial professional body accreditation.

We also offer a number of collaborative programmes in partnership with other institutions, including Central Saint Martins UAL, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and Le Cordon Bleu London.

Our staff

Academic staff in the department research across a range of disciplines and regularly contribute to public debate and publish in leading academic journals. Our research centres draw on the expertise of colleagues in the department and across Birkbeck to provide leading research on topics of contemporary interest to business organisations and public sector institutions.

We look forward to welcoming you.
