Study economics
Birkbeck has been providing world-class training in economics since 1826.
Our graduates have gone on to careers in government (the Bank of England, HM Treasury, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office), in banking and finance (UBS, Lloyds, HSBC), and in accountancy and international consultancy (EY, PwC, Frontier Economics).
Both daytime and evening teaching allows our students to work or gain essential experience during their degrees, putting our graduates at an advantage. Our graduates in economics earn 29% and 33% more than the British average for graduates of these programmes (source: Department for Education).
