Athena Swan award
The Department of Psychological Sciences was awarded an Athena Swan Bronze Award, in recognition of its commitment to tackling gender inequality, on 28 April 2016.
Committed to pushing the boundaries in our understanding of the brain, research in the department primarily focuses on neuroscience, cognition, developmental science – and the links between them.
A proud history
Our department was established in the difficult period of the Second World War, but its origin can be traced to King's College London in the early days of psychological science towards the end of the 19th century.
