Christian Joerges
Professor Christian Joerges researches widely on:
- the Europeanisation of Economic and Private Law
- transnational risk regulation, at European and international level
- compliance and legitimacy problems of transnational governance arrangements
- anti-liberal traditions of legal thought in Europe
Professor Joerges was a Professor at the European University Institute, Florence, 1998-2007. He is now a Fellow and Member of the Centre for European Law and Politics at the University of Bremen (ZERP).
ZERP conducts interdisciplinary research on European integration. The combined focus on law and politics, which integrates disciplines such as political theory, legal sociology as well as constitutional, economic and private law, constitutes the distinctive character of the institute.
