Generous donations from former students, including Mr Timothy J Newling, have allowed us to establish a fund to provide financial assistance to students studying the subject areas of earth and planetary sciences.
Students can receive support with costs of:
- fieldwork
- travel for academic reasons including conferences
- other study related expenditure.
Evidence of financial need will be required to support your application.
Support for students in financial need with fieldwork costs is also available through the Earth and Planetary Sciences Fieldtrip Fund.
Eligibility
You should be enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the subject area of earth and planetary sciences:
- BSc Earth Sciences
- BSc Environmental Geoscience
- BSc Geology
- BSc Natural Sciences
- BSc Natural Sciences with Foundation Year
- BSc Planetary Exploration with Astronomy and Astrobiology
- BSc Planetary Exploration with Astronomy and Astrobiology with Foundation Year
- BSc Planetary Science with Astronomy
- MSc Astrobiology
- MPhil/PhD Earth Sciences
- MPhil/PhD Geology
Value
Awards will usually be limited to £500.
