  • Project BSc Geology

Evidence of financial need will be required to support your application.

Support for students in financial need also available through the Earth and Planetary Sciences Enabling Fund.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • taking one of the field classes or fieldwork modules listed above
  • taking this module for the first time - please note that you will not be provided with field trip funding for the same module more than once
  • up to date with fee payments or have an approved tuition fee loan and not a debtor to the College
  • usually have a household income of less than £40,000.

Please note: Household income is defined as your annual gross income from the tax year ending in April 2025 and the annual gross income of your spouse or partner (if you are cohabiting) for the same period. The income limit is raised by £2000 if assessed on a joint income, and by £2000 for the first dependent child, and a further £1000 for each child thereafter. This does not include income from benefit payments, only from taxable earned income.

Value

Awards are based on the estimated costs as provided by the department organising the trip and will not necessarily cover your own costs in full.

Funding for independent fieldwork modules will be assessed on a case by case basis and will be subject to caps, so you may not receive the full amount of funding you have requested.

Deadline

The fund will remain open until 22nd May 2026, or until funds are exhausted.
