    Biography

    Joseph Muller is a software engineer and educator with ten years’ experience in the nonprofit academic publishing sector.

    By day, he builds and maintains the open-access publishing platform Janeway for Birkbeck’s Open Library of Humanities. By night, he teaches web development in the MA programme Digital Media Design. Before coming to Birkbeck, he taught at Georgetown University, the University of Silesia, and Washtenaw Community College.

    Joseph's current research interests are in the usability of software used for work, as well as in how scholars read and write in the digital age. Previous research interests included early modern English literature, twentieth-century comparative literature and philosophy, and the teaching of writing.
