    Biography

    Inês Rebelo is an artist, designer and educator working across graphic design, digital media design and visual arts. Her practice is informed by contemporary debates in art, science and the environment, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary and inclusive design approaches. Inês’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Atelierfrankfurt.

    She completed a Masters in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, a PGCE (PC) at the Institute of Education and is UX Certified by NN/g (Jakob Nielsen and Don Norman’s group). With over fourteen years of teaching experience in higher education in the UK and abroad, alongside the role of Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London she has been since 2025 Programme Leader and Lecturer on the BA Graphic Design and BA Digital Design programmes at the University of Roehampton. In parallel with teaching, she has worked in communications and design roles in industry across public, charity and private sectors, including at Goldsmiths, University of London’s Communications team and at RCVS Knowledge, with projects recognised by a #1 HEIST award and British Interactive Media Association nominations.

    Inês has most recently participated in the Birkbeck Climate Festival with Sun (24h poster), following Solar Platter at SE8 Gallery, London and at Winterwerft with Protagon, Frankfurt am Main.

    Teaching

    Inês Rebelo started teaching at Birkbeck in 2011, previously focusing on the modules Images on the Web, Web Development & User Experience and Digital Media Design and Development.

    Her current teaching modules include:

    • Visual Design and Web Project (ARMC244S7) - module co-convenor
    • Designing Digitally (ARMC252S5) - module convenor

    She is also part of the team of Final Project supervisors on the Digital Media Design MA programme.
