Birkbeck will host the second edition of its Intelligent Impact webinar series on 24 February, bringing together leading academics to explore some of the most pressing issues shaping today’s world.

Intelligent Impact is a free, one-day online event designed to give prospective students an insight into Birkbeck’s teaching and research across a range of subject areas. Taking place from 12:00–13:00 (UK time), the series features five short webinars showcasing how academic study can translate into real-world impact and future-focused careers.

The programme reflects the breadth of Birkbeck’s undergraduate and postgraduate provision, with sessions covering business, psychology, biomedicine, computer science, and environment and sustainability. Each webinar combines a subject-specific talk with an introduction to studying at Birkbeck, followed by a live Q&A.

This year’s sessions will explore topics including digital innovation and the future of work, how the human brain adapts to change, global health challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, the emerging field of spatial computing, and the role of emotion and communication in responding to climate change.

Delivered by Birkbeck academics, the webinars offer attendees an opportunity to engage with current research, hear from subject experts, and learn more about how a Birkbeck degree can support a wide range of career pathways. The event is open to anyone interested and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
