Birkbeck professor appointed to European International Business Academy Board

Global international association, with headquarters in Brussels, comprises international business academics and practitioners, promoting research, global communication, knowledge transfer, lifelong learning and exchanges of ideas.

Professor Kevin Ibeh, Professor of Marketing and International Business and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Birkbeck, has been appointed as a Director representing the UK on the Board of the European International Business Academy (EIBA). He succeeds Professor Tim Devinney, EIBA Past President and distinguished Professor of International Business at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. 

Professor Ibeh’s appointment, formally ratified at the December 2021 EIBA General Assembly held in Madrid, Spain, was conveyed in a letter from the EIBA Secretariat. His candidacy had previously been affirmed unanimously by the UK’s international business community. 

With this appointment, he joins EIBA Executive Officers and other National Representatives (Directors) charged with the governance of this leading international professional network. Founded in 1974, EIBA promotes the advancement and dissemination of frontier thinking, information, and multi-disciplinary perspectives in the ever-evolving field of International Business. It currently has about 500 members from over 50 countries across all world regions 

A highly respected International Business scholar, Professor Ibeh brings a substantial wealth of relevant experience to the EIBA Board role, including recent hosting of the Academy of International Business UK and Ireland Chapter Conference and the McGill International Entrepreneurship Conference at Birkbeck.   

Professor Ibeh’s appointment, made in line with the EIBA Statues, is for a term of three years, subject to renewal for a further term.
