Birkbeck academic elected to British Academy of Management Council

Dr Neil Pyper, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management will focus on the Management Knowledge and Education stream of work.

Dr Neil Pyper, Senior Lecturer in International Business in Birkbeck’s Department of Management and Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning) for the School of Business, Economics and Informatics has been elected to the Council of the British Academy of Management (BAM). 

BAM is the leading authority on the academic field of management in the UK, with over 2000 members worldwide. The academy supports research excellence through its annual conference, grants and awards and influences management policy and education for public benefit. 

Dr Pyper, who previously served as Treasurer on the BAM Executive Committee, has been elected to the Council to focus on the Management Knowledge and Education stream of work. 

Dr Pyper said: It has been a huge privilege to serve as BAM Treasurer for the past five years. I look forward to developing my work on management knowledge and education as a BAM Council member. 

Professor Geoff Walters, Executive Dean of the School of Business, Economics and Informatics said: This is a real honour for Neil and I am extremely pleased for him. This award and the membership of the BAM Council recognises Neil’s knowledge and expertise in management education and his leadership in this field will be critical to the future success of the Business School at Birkbeck.”
