Postgraduate Dissertation Bootcamp: The writing-up stage

When:
Venue: Online

Book your place

This workshop focuses on the later 'writing up' stages of the dissertation writing process, thinking about how we actually organise our writing in paragraphs, get words on the page, and review the document as a whole in the editing and proofreading stages. It will be more relevant to students who have already begun their dissertation research process and and are engaged in the later stages of writing up their dissertation research.

Earlier workshops in this series focus on the preliminary 'planning and preparation' stages of the dissertation research and writing process, and thinking about how to structure a longer research document.

Although the workshop will be helpful for dissertation writers from any discipline, the workshop will particularly focus on empirical research dissertations. Empirical research is usually found in scientific, social science and vocational subjects, and such dissertations use questionnaires, surveys, lab experiments and other methods to gather original data, and follow a formal report structure, rather than primarily researching from secondary literature, books and journals.
