Visiting professors
- David-Hillel Ruben has a BA from Dartmouth College (USA) and a PhD from Harvard University. He began his career at the University of Edinburgh as tutor and subsequently has held lectureships at Glasgow, Essex, and City Universities. He was made a professor at the LSE in 1994 and has been at Birkbeck on a part-time basis since 2004. More info.
- Marie McGinn is a Professor in Philosophy at the University of East Anglia and an Emeritus Professor at the University of York.
- Simon May writes on German idealism, ethics, and philosophy of the emotions. His latest monograph is Love: A History (Yale University Press, 2011) and his most recent edited volume is Nietzsche’s ‘On the Genealogy of Morality’: A Critical Guide (Cambridge University Press, 2011). He is also a visiting professor at King’s College London.
