Learning support for students
studying in Stratford
If you are enrolled on a course in Stratford, you can access our full range of learning support. However, we also offer the following learning support in Stratford:
Individual support sessions
- We offer individual support sessions, where you can discuss concerns you may have about studying at university. We can provide you with guidance and a range of options to add to and improve your learning skills. You can receive help with issues such as writing essays and assignments, time management, motivation and referral for counselling or disability support. We also offer a range of courses to improve your English, if you are not a native English speaker.

Grammar, basic IT skills and learning support drop-ins

These drop-ins are held Monday to Wednesday 4pm-7pm and Thursday 4pm-6pm in room UH133, UEL. No booking necessary and you can drop in for general learning support. You can also make an appointment for learning support and advice during the day if necessary. Contact the Stratford study skills support team for more information or to book a place.
- Mondays and Tuesdays, Room UH133, 4pm-7pm:
- Improve your grammar, punctuation and spelling: Monday 23 January 2012, Monday 13 February 2012, Monday 27 February 2012: Bring along a piece of your writing, and we will check your grammar, punctuation and spelling and give you tips and exercises to help you improve. Please book for these sessions.
- Improve your basic IT skills: Tuesday 31 January 2012, Monday 20 February 2012, Tuesday 6 March 2012: copy/paste, paginating, line spacing, filing/ retrieving, basic web research techniques. Bring some writing to be entered in a Word file, or some information you want to locate. Please book for these sessions.
- Tuesdays: One-to-one learning support, Room UH133, 4pm-7pm
- Wednesdays: One-to-one learning support, Room UH133, 4pm-7pm
- Thursdays: One-to-one learning support, Room UH133, 4pm-6pm
Lunchtime and evening study skills sessions: Spring 2012
- A series of free workshops taking place during the Spring Term 2012 either from 12 noon-2pm or 6pm-8pm. Please book for the Tues/Wed sessions by 3pm the previous day and for the Mon sessions by 3pm the previous Thursday.
