EndNote and EndNote Basic
What are EndNote and EndNote Basic?
EndNote/EndNote Basic is a program that allows you to create and maintain a personal database of the references that you retrieve from searches of library catalogues, databases and the Internet. EndNote/EndNote Basic also works with Word to allow you to insert references in your text and create bibliographies automatically from the references stored in your personal database. All you need to do is enter the data, either manually or by importing from library catalogues and databases.
EndNote is available in two versions - a free web version (EndNote Basic) and a paid-for version with more features. The full EndNote has more functionality than the free EndNote Basic and so may be more suitable for MPhil/PhD students and staff. Compare EndNote and EndNote Basic
Subject librarians can include EndNote Basic and/or EndNote in information skills training sessions.
