What does it cover?

Digitized final versions of doctoral theses from UK Higher Education Institutions. The database contains 250,000+ records from the 1900’s to present. The database is updated at least weekly with new records from participating from UK Higher Education Institutions, as well as with theses harvested from participants’ Repositories.

Begun in 2005, the EThOSNet project was part of JISC's (Joint Information Systems Committee) Digital Repositories Programme.  In 2008, EThOS was launched and is currently managed by the British Library.

Anyone can use the resource and will need to register specifically for EThOS to order theses.
