BoB (Box of Broadcasts), the on demand TV and radio service for education.

All users with a Birkbeck username and password can watch content and record programmes.

  • Access BoB National
  • The first time you log-in into the new BoB (from 1st of August 2016) you will be asked to enter your contact details again. Then simply click the ‘sign in’ button on the home screen and then select your institution on the ‘Where Are You From?’ screen.

What does it cover?

  • BoB (Box of Broadcasts) National is an innovative shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions.
  • BoB National enables all staff and students in subscribing institutions to choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels. The recorded programmes are then kept indefinitely (no expiry) and added to a growing media archive (currently at over 1 million programmes), with all content shared by users across all subscribing institutions.
  • BoB National allows users to record and catch-up on missed programmes on and off-campus (UK mainland only), schedule recordings in advance, edit programmes into clips, create playlists, linking to clips from Moodle, share what they are watching with others and search a growing archive of material.

Note on Internet Explorer browser requirement

If you are using Internet Explorer please ensure it is the most current version, IE 11,  as Microsoft ended its support for all previous versions of the browser after 12 January 2016. For anyone still using older versions of the browser, it will be necessary to upgrade to IE 11 or Edge.
