Disability Support in the Library and IT Services

Birkbeck (Bloomsbury) offers a wide range of assistive technology and Library support for students with disabilities (including mental health conditions), and dyslexia.

How to access Library and IT support

To access the range of services, please fill in the Study Support Plan on your My Birkbeck Profile. This will automatically register you with Library and IT disability support.

Dyslexia Test

If you would like to check whether you might have dyslexia you can take the LADS dyslexia screening test.

 

Convert a document into an accessible format

Use Sensus Access to convert a document from an inaccessible format, such as an image PDF, into an accessible one, such as a Word document, which can then be read using text-to-speech software or modified to suit your reading needs.

 

Book a Room

Book the Study Support Room in the Library, or G17 on the ground floor of the Main Building.

 

The chat with a librarian service is available from 12noon to 6pm each weekday - during term time.
