Library Disability & Dyslexia Support

Birkbeck (Bloomsbury) offers a wide range of assistive technology and Library support for students with disabilities (including mental health conditions), and dyslexia.

How to access Library Disability & Dyslexia Support

Fill in the Study Support Plan on your My Birkbeck profile. This will automatically register you with Library Disability & Dyslexia Support.

Contact the College Disability and Dyslexia Service if you need help with your Study Support Plan.

Book a Room

Use MyPC to book the Study Support Room in the Library, or the Assistive Technology Booth on the ground floor of the Main Building.

Convert a document into an accessible format

Use Sensus Access to convert a document from an inaccessible format, such as an image PDF, into an accessible one, such as a Word document, which can then be read using text-to-speech software or modified to suit your reading needs.

Chat

The chat with a librarian service is available from 12noon to 6pm each weekday - during term time.
