Using other libraries and inter-library loans

Other Libraries

Being a member of Birkbeck staff gives you access to many other libraries, for example, the SCONUL Access Scheme allows you to borrow from the libraries of over 170 HE institutions. Apply for a SCONUL Access card at the Library help desk. To join Senate House Library obtain a verification form from your School and take it, with your staff ID card, to Senate House Library membership desk.

Inter-library loans

A charge of £1 will be made for each satisfied inter-library loan request. Payment for inter-library loans will be by pre-paid vouchers. Schools/departments have agreed to pay the cost of inter-library loan vouchers on behalf of their academic and research staff. You can order batches of ten inter-library loan vouchers by downloading and completing a voucher order form (below) and asking your administrator to write the relevant account number in the appropriate field of the form.
