The Wellbeing Service runs a number of online and in-person workshops to help students make the most of their time at university.
Term 1
How to be a student: A Wellbeing Guide to University
- An online workshop designed to help you understand ways of maintaining health and wellbeing at university. We will think together about managing and balancing your body and your mind when life is changing and offering new challenges.

Bereavement and Loss
- An online workshop designed to explore bereavement and loss. We will look at the issues that have touched us all in recent times, be it the loss of a job, a familiar way of life or the loss of a loved one. Together we will reflect on the painful but important process of grieving, mourning and coming to terms with our losses.

Managing Loneliness During the Holidays
- This in-person workshop aims to seek a greater understanding of loneliness and its effects on us. We will consider times when circumstances might make us feel isolated or unsupported and how we might strengthen our relationships in order to help us manage these feelings more effectively. We will also explore coping strategies and ways to feel less alone during the festive season.

Diversity and Inclusion
- An online workshop which aims to explore difference in its various forms so that we can begin to have conversations that are more inclusive and allow us to see people as their whole selves, i.e. as fellow human beings and not as stereotypes.

Term 3
Managing Stress and building resilience
- This online workshop aims to explore stress and its effects on us so we can better understand how to manage it more effectively. We will look at and share between us, the coping strategies needed to adapt to challenges and grow our resilience.

Navigating endings and transitions
- The ending of the familiar and beginning of the unfamiliar can be an unsettling time. This workshop aims to provide a space to understand how we experience transitions in our lives and how we can navigate them better.
