Partnerships

The School of Business, Economics and Informatics is pleased to have agreed collaborative activities with a number of highly reputable institutions globally. The School continues to consider and develop such partnerships to the benefit of students, staff and alumni.

British Institute of Funeral Directors

We offer a vocational course in funeral management, jointly designed by the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD), which will give you the skills you need to meet the demands of working as a professional funeral director. The Certificate of Higher Education Funeral Management will give you the advanced technical and interpersonal skills you need to become an effective and successful funeral director, providing a fundamentally important service for people at a difficult and sensitive time in their lives.

Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London

What happens when you mix an arts school with a business school? The Central Saint Martins Birkbeck MBA is a different kind of MBA that places creative approaches and social engagement at the heart of future management and leadership.

Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE)

We have partnered with DUFE Global Institute of Management and Economics (GIME) to offer up to 15 students to study for a one-year Master’s in our Department of Management. This will form the second year of a three-year Chinese Master’s programme, and the students will graduate with dual degrees.

Three PhD students from DUFE GIME will also be selected to study with us. They will have the option to study in a mixed-mode model, completing the first year of study in London and the remainder of the programme in China.

In addition, staff at Birkbeck and DUFE GIME engage in collaborative research and travel as visiting lecturers between the two institutions. For further information please contact the School or Professor Klaus Nielsen.

Global PA Network

We offer a Certificate of Higher Education in Management for Personal Assistants, for those operating as a vital lynchpin in organisational life or for those looking to start a career as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant.

Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW)

Our partnership with ICAEW enables ACA trainees to obtain a 'top-up' degree in combination with their professional training, without having to take extra time off work, and at around half the usual cost. Trainees continue to study for their ACA and take part-time modules at Birkbeck in the evenings or over the weekend, online or work-based. Find out more about BSc Applied Accounting and Business.

Le Cordon Bleu

Birkbeck has partnered with Le Cordon Bleu, the leading global network of culinary arts and hospitality management institutes to deliver a new Bachelor of Business Administration in Culinary Industry Management.

With the evident growth and diversification of the global food industry over the last twenty years, the new degree has been designed to cater to the wide range of new employment and career opportunities that has arisen in the industry.

Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xian

Royal College of Physicians

Our MSc Medical Leadership degree, run in association with the Royal College of Physicians, is designed specifically for doctors to help them to deal with the modern-day pressures and situations that they face as leaders in the medical world.

Shanghai University of Sport, School of Economics and Management

The Shanghai University of Sport (SUS) is jointly managed by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government. SUS has collaborated with our Department of Management and Sport Business Centre to deliver a partnership, granting Dual Master's degrees (1+1+1) in which postgraduate students can take an MSc in Sport Management, Sport Management and Marketing, Sport Management and Business of Football, Sport Management, Governance and Policy, or Sport Marketing.

Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE)

SWUFE is the training base for political and economic talent in Southwest China, and is one of the leading institutions for economics and finance education in China.

We collaborate with the School of International Business (SIB), an important business school with its own unique characteristics. SIB’s Executive Development Programme (EDP) Centre provides the top-level training course in Western China, and the collaborative initiative allows for the delivery of Master's/MPhil programmes to students from SWUFE-SIB as well as staff exchanges.
