Dr Juliana Barone

Juliana Barone has two first degrees, one in Architecture and the other in Modern History, and undertook her Master's and Doctorate in History of Art. Her Doctoral thesis was on Leonardo da Vinci, at Oxford University (Trinity College), where she was subsequently awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (St John’s College). She has published extensively on early modern art and art theory, and has curated exhibitions focusing on the works of Leonardo da Vinci. She is Associate Curator of the British Library exhibition: Leonardo da Vinci: A Mind in Motion (2019) and author of the exhibition catalogue. She has also co-curated the exhibition Leonardo da Vinci and Perpetual Motion (2019) at Peltz Gallery, Birkbeck College, London - Museo Galileo, Florence. Juliana Barone is the principal editor of the volume Leonardo in Britain: Collections and Historical Reception, published as part of the Biblioteca Leonardiana’s series Studi e Documenti (2019). She is a member of the board of the Leonardo da Vinci Society.
