The Karen Yu Clarke bursary is an award of £3,000 to help cover the cost of fees for the MA Creative Writing for a student entering into the second year of study part-time.

Our MA Creative Writing offers you valuable professional support and feedback and the guidance of published authors. The course is available full or part-time.

This award is for a student in financial need who would benefit from the help towards covering the cost of the degree. There is also an additional £3,000 which will be awarded at the Exam Board, at the discretion of tutors and the course director, to a student who shows exceptional promise in their dissertation, to give time and support post-MA to complete a work in progress. This financial support has been donated in memory of Karen Yu Clarke who studied on the MA at Birkbeck.
