Instituted in the memory of Jeanne Houston, this is a bursary for female undergraduate students studying languages courses.
Eligibility
You must be:
- female
- 21 years of age or older
- enrolled on an eligible undergraduate language degree programme (a degree in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean or Spanish)
- a registered student on a Birkbeck programme that is based at our Bloomsbury campus in London (this includes programmes delivered online).
- experiencing financial hardship.
Supporting material may consist of:
- a letter from an employer, a redundancy letter
- a doctor's letter
- a photocopied P60.
Value
£1,050 for the purpose of relieving financial hardship.
Applications will be considered on the basis of need, prioritising cases where a student would be forced to leave the programme without this financial assistance.
