Thanks to the generous support of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators, we are able to offer an award to support a student intending to progress into a career in water, waste or environmental management or conservation.

The Company plays a leading role in environmental and climate change initiatives within the City of London. Its mission is to promote a diverse and sustainable environment, focusing on the long-term sustainability of water resources and environmental management. The Company supports students studying subjects related to environmental management as a long-term investment in the quality and quantity of sectoral leaders.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • studying MSc Environment and Sustainability, MSc Geography or MSc Climate Futures and Solutions.
  • enrolling full-time or continuing to the second year of a part-time course in 2026-27
  • have an immigration status that allows full and unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • intending to progress into a career in water and/or environmental management in the UK.
  • planning to complete a dissertation relevant to the aims of the Worshipful Company, primarily relating to water research, policy and/or management, but also including environmental management more generally (see application form).

Value

The award will provide a fee remission of £4,000 and a study grant of £1,000; total award value is £5,000.

Please complete the online application form by 30 September 2026. You will need to provide a brief outline of the kind of dissertation topic you are interested in developing, which need not be very detailed yet.
