At Birkbeck, the Careers and Enterprise service provides you with two excellent careers portals:
- Career Access Portal (CAP): your career development resource available 24/7, designed to support you to develop your employability skills and industry knowledge. Note: CAP was formerly known as Abintegro.
- Handshake: your career management portal at Birkbeck and beyond, where you can book one-to-one appointments, sign up for employer-led events, apply for jobs and lots more.
Career Access Portal (CAP)
CAP includes two groundbreaking AI-powered tools: CV360 and Interview360.
- CV360 is a scanner that gives instant feedback to improve your CV.
- Interview360 offers interview practice with automated feedback to boost your confidence and performance.
CAP also includes an extensive range of e-learning resources, videos and articles covering topics like networking, personal branding, time management and career planning. Through career assessments, you can explore strengths, personality traits and career preferences. Begin your career journey by taking the Career Pulse feature.
You can explore industry insights, company profiles, hiring trends and culture overviews, discover roles across industries, required skills, average salaries and progression routes.

Forage
Forage is a work experience programme covering a diverse range of bite-sized 5-6 hour virtual experience programmes that give students and graduates a genuine career advantage with the world's top companies.
- Current students can access Forage by logging in with their Birkbeck email address and following the instructions on screen.
- Alumni: as Forage is open access, you can create a profile with your personal email address and follow the instructions on the site.
