Your career portal
At Birkbeck, the Careers and Enterprise service provides you with an excellent career portal:
- Career Access Portal (CAP): your career development resource available 24/7, designed to support you to develop your employability skills and industry knowledge. Note: CAP was formerly known as Abintegro.
Career Access Portal (CAP)
CAP includes two groundbreaking AI-powered tools: CV360 and Interview360.
- CV360 is a scanner that gives instant feedback to improve your CV.
- Interview360 offers interview practice with automated feedback to boost your confidence and performance.
CAP also includes an extensive range of e-learning resources, videos and articles covering topics like networking, personal branding, time management and career planning. Through career assessments, you can explore strengths, personality traits and career preferences. Begin your career journey by taking the Career Pulse feature.
You can explore industry insights, company profiles, hiring trends and culture overviews, discover roles across industries, required skills, average salaries and progression routes.
- Current students can access CAP by visiting the CAP home page.
- Alumni can access CAP by following these instructions (under the Information for Birkbeck Alumni section).
Over the coming months, we'll continue expanding the Career Access Portal (CAP), where you'll be able to:
- book careers appointments
- search Birkbeck-approved opportunities
- access careers resources and employability tools
- explore support designed to help you achieve your career goals.
We'll share further updates as new services become available.
Handshake
From June 30 2026, the Birkbeck Careers and Enterprise service is no longer using Handshake to book careers appointments or advertise Birkbeck-approved opportunities.
As we currently transition from using Handshake and move to our new systems, you can continue accessing careers support in the following ways:
- Current students can continue to book one-to-one careers appointments by emailing the Careers team.
- Alumni students can book one-to-one careers appointments by emailing the Careers team for two years after their graduation date.
- Birkbeck-approved opportunities are no longer advertised on Handshake. We will continue to promote Birkbeck Careers and Enterprise opportunities on our social media – follow us on LinkedIn for careers news, employer events and opportunities.
- Applications for our Ability Micro-placements will continue through Microsoft Forms and will be promoted through our usual student communications. If you have any questions about Ability Micro-placements, please contact the Talent team.
