About the lab

The Affective and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab investigates cognition and emotion, particularly emotional information processing and its effects on cognitive processes, including: 

  • attention 
  • cognitive performance
  • interpretation 
  • memory 
  • reasoning. 

Our lab uses a wide variety of cognitive and neuroscientific methods, including:

  • behavioural reaction times 
  • eye-tracking 
  • electro-physiological methods: electroencephalogram (EEG), event-related potentials (ERP), psycho-physiological methods (eg skin conductance and heart rate variability)
  • functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
