About the lab

The renowned ISMB Electron Microscopy Facility was established by Professor Helen Saibil and is now headed by Professor Carolyn Moores, in collaboration with Facility Co-ordinators, Dr Tom Foran and Dr Mark Nakasone.

The Facility supports both molecular and cellular cryo-electron microscopy workflows for researchers from the Bloomsbury campus and beyond.

Local researchers work in the areas of:

  • microbiology and infectious disease
  • cellular and molecular transport
  • molecular machines
  • protein folding and misfolding
  • DNA and RNA biology
  • molecular immunology.

We welcome queries from external or industrial users and have established workflows for training new users and delivering industry-based projects.
