Alumni community

The Birkbeck Sport Business Centre is part of an extensive network of organisations and individuals working in sport and related sectors in many countries around the world. Key to this network are the alumni of the various Birkbeck sport management programmes.

Birkbeck was one of the first UK institutions to offer postgraduate sport management degrees, with our first programme running in 2001, and we now have around 850 sport management alumni spread across the globe.

Our alumni contribute regularly to Centre activities, with many giving public seminars, joining panel discussions and acting as expert guest speakers on our Birkbeck sport management programmes. Many alumni are also active in helping current Birkbeck students, acting as mentors and providing internship and employment opportunities where possible. Our alumni are also a valuable resource for each other, offering expertise and connections. The alumni community is directly connected through an exclusive Birkbeck Sport Management Alumni Association LinkedIn group, which all Birkbeck sport management students are invited to join as soon as they graduate.
