Making the most of your Birkbeck Open Day

Our Open Days give you the chance to visit our campus, hear from staff and students about what it's like to study at Birkbeck and find out why record numbers of undergraduate students are choosing to study at London's evening university.

Unable to get to one of our Open Days? Take a virtual tour, check out our virtual department taster events, or book onto one of our short campus tours.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Open Days

Once our Welcome Talk has introduced you to Birkbeck, our history and evening study, you can choose from these activities to find out what it's like to be an undergraduate or postgraduate student at Birkbeck.

attend a subject talk

This is the most important part of attending an Open Day and something to prioritise when you visit. A subject talk will give you an introduction to your chosen area of study and help you to decide if the course you're considering is right for you.

Meet lecturers and students from your department or subject area

This will allow you to hear more about our courses from students who've been in the exact position you find yourself in, as well as staff who are passionate about their subject and can answer in-depth questions about their teaching.

Go on a campus tour

As part of the University of London, our Bloomsbury campus has a full range of high quality teaching spaces and facilities, set in a lively student-centred area of central London. Our campus tours will take you to see the facilities you'd use as a Birkbeck student including the Library, science labs and teaching areas, as well as the best places to study, socialise and eat!

Speak to Student Support Services

Whether you're joining Birkbeck from school, college or another university or returning to education after a break, the transition can be challenging. Our Support Services have a great track record in assisting our diverse student population in areas such as accommodation, finance, wellbeing and disability support.

Speak to Birkbeck Talent

Our in-house recruitment service links students with employers, enabling Birkbeck students to gain valuable work experience while they study. Our graduates are among the highest paid in the UK, five years after graduation [do we have to link to evidence for this?]. Use your Open Day visit to find out more about what your job prospects will look like during and after your studies at Birkbeck.
