University recruitment of students aged 21 to 39
Invitation to take part in a research project
Are you…
- An undergraduate student from the UK in your first or second year of study? Or…
- From the UK and planning to be an undergraduate student from September/October 2020? And…
- Aged between 21 and 39 when you first started or when you plan to start your undergraduate course?
We’re running a research project about students who were or will be aged 21 and over when they start(ed) their undergraduate degree and would like you to invite you to take part. There are two parts of the project which we would like to invite you to take part in:
- An online one to one interview with a researcher. It will take around 45 minutes at a time during August which will suit you, and you will receive a £15 voucher as a thank you for taking part.
- An online community discussion group where you will be asked to answer around 5 questions a day over a period of 3 to 5-day period and discuss your answers with other students and prospective students in the group. This will take place in the first half of September and you will receive a £25 voucher as a thank you for taking part.
If you are interested in taking part in either or both of the options, please click on the link and complete our screener survey to register your interest. We will then be in touch if you are chosen to take part.
The project is being conducted by Alterline (an independent research agency) on behalf of a group of UK universities (Birkbeck, University of London, University of Winchester, University of East Anglia, University of Southampton, University of Exeter, University of Surrey).
The project will ask about the decisions that you made and the process that you went through when applying for university alongside your experience of your transition into university if you are already a student. The results will be used to inform the recruitment and student experience strategies of a group of universities in the UK to help them to understand the needs of students who will be aged 21 and over when they start their undergraduate degrees.
By moving completing the screener survey you are consenting to giving Alterline your contact details to be contacted about taking part in the research and to the terms highlighted below. If at any time you change your mind about this, you can stop answering the questions and email laura.hotchkiss@alterline.co.uk with your request. If you have any questions about this research, you can also contact emily.rubython@bbk.ac.uk or laura.hotchkiss@alterline.co.uk.
