Uni Connect - Linking London Update December 2023
December 2023 update from Uni Connect
December was an extremely busy month for our college-based engagement coordinators who have been supporting students with their UCAS applications. It was also a time to finalise arrangements for workshops and sessions to be delivered to year 1/year 12 students in the New Year as they begin to think in earnest about their options for when they leave college. We also held our first staff CPD webinar of the year and we were delighted to have over 20 participants. The webinar was delivered by Ben Rutter from student finance England and looked in depth at student finance for non-UK nationals.
Looking ahead to January we have Kick Off meetings for three of our strategic partner projects; with Middlesex University and Barnet and Southgate College, with Greenwich University and Haringey College and with Goldsmiths University and Playing On Theatre Company with Lewisham College. All three projects are due to begin in the spring term as well as the final part of the Birkbeck Community Leadership project. These projects will run alongside our sports focused project Kick Start focused on White Working Class Boys. Finally, we have continued to contribute to the London Uni Connect attainment raising projects which will begin in the spring term with Ark Academy schools.
