New funding award for the Mapping Museums project
Professors Fiona Candlin and Alex Poulovassilis have been successful in obtaining funding of £35,000 from the UKRI Covid-19 Extension Allocation to continue the research and dissemination activities of the Mapping Museums project. We will be working with researchers Dr Valeri Katerinchuk (Birkbeck Knowledge Lab) and Mark Liebenrood (History of Art department) during December 2020 to September 2021 to extend our database with new functionalities and new data, visit and interview more museum founders, and produce a comprehensive research monograph detailing the project's findings on the state of the UK museum sector.
