We are delighted to announce that all 5 of our match funded projects through university and external partners are now underway. The last project to start, a series of drama workshops through Playing On theatre company with Goldsmiths University took place last week in Lewisham College and London South East College with a specific focus on care experienced students.

We have also signed up two colleges to our Kick Start project targeting white working-class boys using sport as a vehicle to promote higher education. West London College and New City College sports BTEC students will be taking part in a series of workshops and visits by Kingston University and UCFB (University College of Football Business) in the coming months.

Our Engagement Co-ordinators have been busy matching university academics to college subjects. NCC Havering have had workshops from LSBU on town planning, targeting geography and architecture students, as well as workshops in engineering. Reading University will also be giving a talk on Why Study English at University, and they’ve been part of Green Week, promoting Greener career paths. Barking & Dagenham students have had talks from St Mary’s University and Greenwich University on Money Management and Career Progression, and NCC Ardleigh Green have been visited by Point Blank Music School for options and industry talks. Croydon College have been engaging with their LAC and SEND students, supporting them with student finance applications and general careers IAG.

We are also continuing with our online webinars targeting college students which are proving popular! This month we have Northeastern University delivering a Student Finance talk and Birkbeck University delivering an Intro to HE talk.
