Event Report - Linking London Friday News Round

Our monthly round up of what's been going on, as well as a look ahead to what’s coming up helps our partners keep tabs on all the key things that are going on in the world of education.

Our ever-popular Friday News Round – updating partners on recent developments in the education sector – started with a brief cover of key news headlines, including some relevant points raised in the Autumn Statement.

We then discussed the updates to the Lifelong Learning Entitlement, including the way in which your credit will be calculated if you had attended university already.

It wouldn’t be the end of the year, if we didn’t cover UCAS End of Cycle data. After the key numbers were explained, we touched on the OfS APP guidance updates, and the debates surrounding the experience of young carers in education.

Finally, we offered an overview of the apprenticeship-related news - most importantly, we covered the ongoing discussions regarding apprenticeship levy reform. We concluded the News Round with the most recent LMI statistics.

Feedback from attendees at our News Round events has been really positive:

“Great digest of what is happening in the world of education.” University colleague

“It allowed me to acquire lots of relevant information in a short time.” College colleague

“Very useful overview of all the latest reports and initiatives in HE.” College colleague

The next Friday News Round will take place on January 26. You can book your place here.
