Event Report – T Level Practitioner Group Meeting

On the 25 January, Linking London held the second T Level Practitioner Group of the academic year and was well represented with FE and HE partners present.

After a warm welcome from the chair Sultan Soukani, Assistant Principal at HRUC, delegates heard first from Suzanne Hall, Head of Sector Development at Pearson presented to the group giving an update on T Level developments including DfE roll out changes, Summer 2023 results, DfE data and a generation 2 T level update.

We then had several updates, firstly from Katrina Cotton, Area Relationship and Development Lead ‑ London from the Education and Training Foundation, who presented to the group on assessment in T Levels including ETF T Level Professional training, industry insights and Network dates in the diary. Following this we heard from Alison Whittle from City and Guilds who provided an overview of their T Level developments including the summer exam results and the proportion of students passing the core and occupational specialism.

After a short break, a college and university partner update then followed where college partners shared information on delivering and planning to deliver T Levels including the challenges and positives they have had.

Lastly, we heard from Hannah Phoenix, Employer Experience Officer and Maria Humphries from London South East Colleges (LSEC) who presented on an overview of LSEC’s T Level offer including new T Levels they plan to launch and securing industry placements and what has worked well and challenges around this.

The next T Level Practitioner Group Meeting will be in the summer term, 2-4pm.
