Dr McDowall named Volunteer of the Year by British Psychological Society
Award acknowledges the dedication and efforts of outstanding volunteers
Dr Almuth McDowall, Head of the Department of Organizational Psychology, has been awarded the Volunteer of the Year prize by the Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP) of the British Psychological Association (BPS). The award acknowledges the dedication and efforts of outstanding DOP volunteers.
Roxane Gervais (Chair of BPS Division of Occupational Psychology) said: “Dr McDowall has volunteered extensively with the DOP in the work-life balance area, making great strides in moving this group on and building extensive connections with relevant organisations. She has also been Chair of the Division and more recently contributed to the critically important and challenging area of the DOP qualifications process. As an academic and practitioner she has brought considerable knowledge and expertise to bear in a way that has enhanced our profession. Within the PEQ strategy group that she was responsible for creating, she has worked tirelessly to push through an entirely new Stage 1 syllabus and is very close to gaining BPS acceptance of the revised Stage 2 process that will address many of the most pervasive problems that the DOP has been faced with over the last decade or more.”
