Birkbeck Bengaluru opens to students following letter of approval from Indian Government

Birkbeck, University of London is delighted to have received the letter of approval from the Indian Government permitting it to begin teaching from its new campus in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

The letter means that Birkbeck Bengaluru students will be able to start studying for internationally recognised University of London degrees that are valued by employers and universities worldwide in Bengaluru, India from the 2026/27 academic year.

Birkbeck Bengaluru students will benefit from global academic standards ensuring their education meets internationally recognised benchmarks. They will also benefit from a research-informed curriculum that combines academic insight with practical relevance for modern business environments.

Birkbeck Bengaluru is offering BSc Hons in Business Management; BSc Hons in Business Analytics; BSc Hons Business Management (International Business); MSc International Business Management; and MSc Business Analytics from its campus.

Professor Sally Wheeler, Vice-Chancellor of Birkbeck, University of London said:

“I would like to thank the Government of India for giving us permission to offer a prestigious Birkbeck, University of London education to students in India.

“I am really pleased that we will be welcoming students to our new campus in Bengaluru over the next few months. We are already looking forward to our first cohort graduating with University of London degrees, which will help them to secure excellent jobs in both India and overseas contributing to the local and global economy.

“Birkbeck’s new campus in Whitefield, Bengaluru has been fitted out to a high-standard and it will be incredibly rewarding for everyone who has helped to set it up, see it busy with undergraduates and postgraduates soon.”
