BEI welcomes new Reader in Organizational Psychology

The Department of Organizational Psychology is delighted to welcome Dr Alexandra Beauregard who joins Birkbeck as Reader.

Dr Alexandra Beauregard joined the Department of Organizational Psychology as Reader in May 2018. She was previously Associate Professor in Human Resource Management at Middlesex University Business School and Assistant Professor in Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Alexandra has also held social policy positions in the Government of Canada’s Departments of Industry and Citizen and Immigration, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

Alexandra obtained a PhD and MSc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from LSE. Her research is centred on the work-life interface, flexible working arrangements, and diversity management, with a particular focus on gender identity and gender equality. She is an editor for Work, Employment, and Society and serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Organizational Behavior, British Journal of Management, International Journal of Management Reviews, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal. She is currently editing a special issue of European Management Review on the topic of successful gender equality initiatives in work organisations.

Speaking of her appointment, Alexandra said: “As a longtime admirer of the Department of Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck, I am delighted to now be a part of this dynamic group, and I look forward to contributing to its innovative programmes and impactful scholarly activities.”
