'Becky Briant has been awarded £750 from the Quaternary Research Association (https://www.qra.org.uk/) to visit archives in the Netherlands this coming autumn.
This is follow on from work that Becky has been doing with collaborators improving pretreatments for radiocarbon dating seeds near the limits of the technique (http://eprints.bbk.ac.uk/19959/).
Becky is going to hunt in basements and cold stores (large fridges) at various Dutch Universities for sediments and seeds from sites that indicate surprisingly warm climates at times during the last glacial period, so that she and her team can find out how old they really are using these new pretreatments.
