Entry information for students from Bangladesh

  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    • The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores, however we accept many other tests and qualifications.

  • Undergraduate Entry Requirements

    • Applicants from Bangladesh who have completed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Intermediate Certificate will normally require a Foundation course for entry onto undergraduate programmes at Birkbeck. These offer the opportunity for guaranteed progression onto Birkbeck’s Bachelor programmes.
    • Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-levels will be considered for direct admission to our undergraduate degree programmes. IB requirements range from 28 to 33, depending on the course.
  • Postgraduate Entry Requirements

    You will typically need to have one of the following:

    • 4 or 5 year bachelor's (honours) degree, typically with 60% or CGPA 3.0 out of 4 or above.
    • 4 year BUET bachelor's (honours) degree, typically 55% or CGPA of 2.8 out of 4 or above
    • LLB from a recognised university, typically with 60%+ or CGPA 3.0 out of 4 or above
    • 2 year master's, typically 55% or CGPA 2.8 or above
  • Research degrees Entry Requirements

    • For entry onto research degree courses students should normally have a Master’s degree from a reputable university.
    • Applicants are strongly urged to contact potential supervisors within the department before submitting a research application.
