Start to Teach 2024 (session 2)

We are delighted to offer a new start to teach course for all Birkbeck PhD students new to teaching and/or demonstrating at Birkbeck. This is suitable for PhD students with no previous experience of teaching or assisting teaching or those who are keen to refresh their knowledge and skills as part of a supportive cohort.
The course will provide you with the opportunity to join a cross-college network of your peers, with whom you can discuss your classroom challenges and achievements, and work together to identify and share good practice in learning and teaching approaches.
Session 2: Digital education (Friday 16 February)
• Understand the role of Digital Education at Birkbeck
• Get to know the learning technology available to enhance your teaching and student learning
• Consider how learning technology can be applied to your current module design/delivery
• Know where to get find help with resource collation, design and development
The course comprises three in-person afternoon sessions from 12pm – 4pm with the other sessions on Friday 2 February and Friday 8 March. Lunch will be provided. Please note: Participants will expected to attend every session.
