This informal workshop will centre around a transcript from an oral history interview from Bengali immigrant Nawab Ali, who arrived in the UK in 1939. His extraordinary story reflects the richness and hardships of the lives of immigrants to the UK and the East End. The workshop will begin with an introduction to Alastair Levy’s exhibited work My Home In Morgan Street (2023).
