Since the inception of the NHS 75 years ago, in 1948, migrant nurses have played a crucial role. The active recruitment of overseas staff from countries near and far has been a defining feature of the health service. This conference brings together academic researchers and practitioners to explore the contribution of diverse groups of nurses over time – from the early decades of the NHS right up to the present day.
The conference is organised by Prof. Louise Ryan, Global Diversities and Inequalities Research Centre and Dr Julie MacLaren, Head of Nursing at London Metropolitan University.
