Dissertation Bootcamp 2023 is a series of workshops taking place on four consecutive Wednesday lunchtimes online, repeating on Thursday evenings in person, in June and July. An additional session on literature reviews will repeat online on a Monday lunchtime and an evening. (dates below).
A literature review is the spine of a dissertation, which provides the basis and strength for arguments and hypothesis. Building on content from the other workshops in the Dissertation Bootcamp, this workshop will focus on key aspects of the literature review. It will cover the primary principles of literature reviews, including:
- What is the purpose of a literature review?
- Where does the literature review go in a dissertation?
- How to process information to facilitate writing.
- How to structure and write a literature review.
This workshop is suitable for those who will be or addressing a dissertation at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
Please Note: This online workshop will take place on Microsoft Teams. Our workshops are intended for enrolled Birkbeck students only, and student login details are required for online access.
